The Nebraska Broadcasters Association held their annual convention in Omaha on August 12th and 13th, at Embassy Suites in La Vista.
Dennis and Kathy Brown who own and operate KCSR Radio in Chadron are the first husband and wife owner/operator inductees into the broadcasters hall of fame. The Browns purchased KCSR in 1991 which saved the station for going under. Dennis has served three terms as president of the broadcaster’s association. Congratulations to the KCSR team.
Dave Dent, former owner/operator of KVSH is also a member of the Hall of Fame.
Current KVSH owners, Kim and Mike Burge attended the convention to learn more about programming, sales, legal issues and more that they can use to better serve the KVSH community. Mike has also been selected to serve on the Nebraska Broadcasters Association Board of Directors for a two-year term. He will serve on the board with other rural broadcasters like Criag Kinzey of Ainsworth and Mark Jenson of Ord among others from across the state.
