Mission SD Man Sentenced to Prison

A Mission man has been hit with a 25-year prison sentence after admitting to injuring his family member and killing a man.
Eric Roubideaux, II, 21, was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for the Voluntary Manslaughter charge and 10 years in federal prison for the Assault with a Dangerous Weapon charge.
The sentences will be served concurrently.
The attack happened on July 7, 2024, within the Rosebud Sioux Indian Reservation.
Roubideaux was with family members at a residence in Mission when he became angry and attacked a family member with a garden hoe.
Roubideaux also kicked and stomped the family member, fleeing shortly afterwards.
After he fled, Roubideaux came upon a man walking along the street and confronted him.
Roubideaux then attacked the man with a stick, knocking him to the ground.
He then proceeded to kick and stomp the man, including repeatedly kicking the man in the head.
The man died from his injuries.
Roubideaux fled the scene but was arrested a short time later.
Roubideaux was indicted by a federal grand jury in Aug. 2024. He pleaded guilty on May 19, 2025.
