Valentine Retail Sales Up In March

THE NEBRASKA DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE FINANCE AND RESEARCH DIVISION RELEASED THE COMPARISON OF FEBRUARY 2026 AND FEBRUARY 2025 NET TAXABLE SALES FOR NEBRASKA COUNTIES AND SELECTED CITIES.

In March, Valentine retail sales were up 6.6% when compared to 2025 figures. This was a big turnaround from February when sales were down 8.8% when compared to the previous year.  By comparison, other peer communities were also reporting increased sale tax in March. Ainsworth was up 2.6%, Broken Bow was up 7.9%, O’Neill was up 4.4% and Gordon saw an increase of almost 15%.
