McGinley and Olson Athletes of the Year from Badger Boosters

The Valentine Badger Boosters held their 2024-25 sports awards event Sunday evening at Valentine High School. The format changed this year where there was no banquet preceding the awards.

Birk and Mike Burge of KVSH were asked to MC the event held in the auditorium at the High School. They read a script from each head coaches with a brief highlight of the season and then announced letter winners and other specific awards as coached handed out the awards. After athletes were recognized, Activities Director Blake Beebout presented the senior male and female athlete awards. The Business and Professional Women’s senior Female Athlete award was presented to Kimber McGinley, the daughter of Mark and Jessica McGinley. Kimber was also recognized as a three sport athlete all four years of high school.

The Bill Raubach Award for Senior Male Athlete of the Year was awarded to Andon Olson, son of Gabe and Kandee Olson. Andon reached the 1000 point mark in basketball and also set a single game scoring record for the Badgers during his career.

KVSH was honored to have Birk and Mike Burge win the Badger Booster Fan of the Year Award for covering Badger Sports both home and away.
