KVSH Radio hosted a candidates’ forum on Wednesday evening at Mid Plains Community College. All four candidates for Cherry County Commissioner appeared on the panel during the 80 minute forum which covered topics including hog farms, wind farms, private property rights, budgets and even the potential for a nursing home facility in Cherry County. Incumbents Nina Nelson and Mike McConauhey along with challengers Duane Kime and Wade Andrews answered questions ranging from the budget to tourism. Each candidate had the opportunity to give an introduction and a conclusion at the end of the program.
About 60 area residents attended the event in person and it was also broadcast on KVSH Radio live.
