The Weber Family of Valentine and Connealy angus of Mullen, purchased the set of three handmade toy construction pieces to benefit the Sandhills Cancer fund for $7000. Each year Swede Lolley makes the pieces and donates them to be auctioned off at Valentine Livestock Auction to benefit the foundation. This year the pieces included a dozer, belly dump truck and a scraper.
In its over 15-year history, the Sandhills Cancer Fund has distributed almost $500,000 to help area residents travel to receive cancer treatment. In 2025 they helped 42 people with expenses.
Anyone can make a donation to the fund at any time. You can find them on Facebook or contact Diette Glenn in Ainsworth.
