The Cherry County Visitors Promotion Board is very close to reaching the 1.5 million dollar fund raising goal to take advantage of a match by an anonymous donor for the new events center in Valentine. In early August the generous donor informed the board of the intended match agreement and the board only had one month to raise 1.5 million dollars in pledges from the community.

 The benefit auction last weekend brought in $35,100 toward the effort. Some other pledges have also come in to make the total needed only $62,500 to reach the lofty goal.

 This shows the dedication of the community and the board to get this project done. There are still a few days before the deadline and still some funds to raise. Anything over $2,000 can be made over a five year period.
