The 2026 Nebraska Star Party will be held July 12–17, 2026, at Merritt Reservoir State Recreation Area near Valentine. The area has been designated as an International Dark Skies Park due to the lack of light pollution.
· Online registration is now open, with mail-in registration also available.
· The event promotes its internationally recognized dark skies, beginner field school, astronomy presentations, family activities, astrophotography, and observing opportunities.
The public star party will be Friday, July 17th at 9pm . The theme this year will be “Groovin around the Galaxy”. For more information go to nebraskastarparty.org.
