The 138th annual Old Settlers reunion was held on Saturday at Sparks. What started as a harvest celebration in 1888 has endured the test of time with

family entertainment.

The Bowery program started the day with entertainment, a little history and the announcement of the oldest and

youngest Old Settlers. Youngest male was 20 month old Ryker Eklund, youngest girl was 3 week old Taycie Elliott. Tom and Doris Owen were the oldest settlers in attendance.  Tom is 88 and Doris is 89. They had to be

pulled away from operating their concession stand to be honored.

After the small sports, the rodeo began and so did the rain. It turned a little muddy in the arena which made for some great memories and stories.

The Old Settlers committee would like to thank the volunteers, participants, spectators and sponsors for making the day a success.

Looking forward to 139th event the last Saturday of August in 2026.
