An anonymous donor has pledged a 1.5 million dollar match to the proposed Cherry County Events Center, provided the community can come up with another 1.5 million by September 7th.  According to organizers they will need to come up with approximately another $900,000 by the deadline to meet the criteria.

 They currently have about 2.5 million dollars pledged to the event center which is about half of the total cost.  This latest match would complete the fund raising and construction could begin soon. 

 On Saturday, August 8th at the Cherry County Fair the fund raising committee will hold a public information session on the stage to explain the project and answer questions.  The Cherry County Visitors Promotion Board will host an ice cream social as well.

 If anyone has been thinking about a pledge to the project now is the time to make that pledge so they can take advantage of the 1.5 million dollar match offer.
