Valentine Fire Department Gets $10k Grant From State Farm For Radios

Valentine was one of 150 departments nationally to get the grant.
According to Kimberly Quiros, Chief of Communications for the National Volunteer Fire Council, Fire Departments in Nebraska Receive $10,000 Grants from State Farm® and the NVFC. A total of $1.5 million was awarded to 150 volunteer fire departments nationwide through the Good Neighbor Firefighter Safety Program.  Of the Nebraska Recipients, the Valentine Volunteer Fire Department was awarded $10,000 which will go towards radios and pagers for it’s crew.  According to Terry Engels, VFD Chief, the pagers cost approximately $550 each, and radios cost up to $1,000 each.
