Even though we think of summer winding down when it comes fair time, the Valentine Chamber still has a number of things in the works.   This Saturday will be Crazy Days with merchants hosting sidewalk sales and many in store specials.  Sales usually begin around 8AM but some will start earlier. The sidewalk chalk art contest will be held between Sandhills State Bank and the former Dance Studio location. Basic chalk will be provided.  There will be divisions for adult, teen, pre-teen and 10 and under. Chamber bucks for the winners.  The first 100 shoppers stopping at the Chamber Booth will receive a free cooling towel.  The first Valentine marathon will start at Bolo Beer Co and finish at that location by noon.

In the afternoon several businesses have teamed up to sponsor a block party in front of Humdinger Boots on South Hall Street. Slag Welding and Repair, Neilson Insurance and Humdinger boots will have food, drinks and specials.  A cornhole tournament organized by the Heart City Baggers will start at 1pm with $750 added money.  That evening will be music by The Will Carter Band in the street.

Be sure to listen to KVSH Radio as we will broadcast live from several locations during the day to keep our listeners informed.

The Chamber is also preparing for the Chaduza Cook Off in Valentine City Park on September 6th.  Meat will be provided by the Chamber 24 hours in advance. Entries are now open by calling Jenny More at 402 322 5950.  a challenge has been issued to any and all EMS persons in a separate BBQ contest called “The Legends”.  A donation from the chamber will be made to the winning organization.  There will be music all afternoon with the American Rebel Tour at 1 and Kate Watson at 7pm. there will also be Art In The Park open to anyone who would like to display products.
