The Heart City Theater Group continues to move forward with plans to renovate the old Jewell Theater building on Main Street.  They recently received an anonymous grant for $50,000 toward the project and local citizens continue to donate as well. The round-up program at Hendersons IGA has generated over $27,000 so far.

The original projection for purchase, demolition and reconstruction of the new theater was $800,000.  They have raised over $650,000 currently, including private donations and some grants.

The goal originally was to be open early this summer.  That date was later moved to possibly this fall.  The current target date for opening the family friendly theater is now spring of 2026.

If anyone would like to make a tax-deductible donation to the theater project, you can send to Box 117, Valentine Ne, 69201 or contact Shelly Henderson, Danielle Arganbright, Jamie Eggert or any other board member.

This Friday evening, August 22nd, the group will host an outdoor movie night at the Shopko parking lot starting at 8:30 showing the movie Sing. A free will donation to the theater group for admission and concessions will be accepted.
