Several Election Deadlines In October For Cherry County Voters
The November 3rd General Election is still over a month away, but several deadlines are quickly approaching in Nebraska. The deadline to register to vote online, DMV, Agent, or by Mail in Nebraska will be October 16th. In person registration must be completed by October 23rd.
Ballots will be mailed to your residential address on file with the Cherry County Clerk’s office on October 9th.
Some of the contested races on your Cherry County Ballot this year will include the Valentine City Council ticket with Neil Wescott, Brad Arnold, and Bradley Cardinal as well as multiple Natural Resources district Board of Directors’ races and village board races.
The proposal to increase the number of Cherry County Commissioners from 3 to 5 has also gotten a lot of attention as we get closer to the November election.
Statewide proposals including increasing the constitutional amendment to increase the term limit for state legilators from two to three consecutive 4-year terms and a couple initiative measures that deal with internet-based sports wagers, as well as measure 442 which would expressly designate each athletic team or sport based on biological sex and would prevent males from competing in girls’ sports.
Voters will also have a choice in the US Senate and Congressional 3rd District seats currently held by Republican incumbents Pete Ricketts and Adrian Smith, respectively.
