Multiple Fire Departments Respond To Fire On McKelvie Saturday.

UPDATE:
Reports as of around 3:50 indicate that additional responding units, as well as aerial support, are turning around but units on scene stay as the fire appears under control. Stay tuned to KVSH Radio for any additional updates on this story.
At about 2:40pm CT, Conservation officer Frank Miller advised Cherry County Dispatch of smoke on McKelvie. Initial reports indicated smoke in the northwest corner of the forest, but updates showed the smoke from about 2-3 miles northwest of Merritt Dam. Kilgore was paged as well as the Valentine Volunteer Fire Department. Radio traffic indicated that additional support from Fort Pierre, Brownlee, Halsey and Cody had also been requested with forest service also on scene.
