High Winds Tuesday Night, Wednesday Morning Lead To Widespread Power Outtages

From Cherry Todd Electric - Cherry Todd Electric reports 45 three-phase poles breaking that feed Wood, East White River, and Eastern Mellette County, around 30 single phase poles west of White River that powers Cedar Butte area. Three main poles feeding the Okreek three-phase are also broken. There is damage all over the entire system.
Cherry Todd has brought in multiple crews from surrounding cooperatives to assist including Douglas Electric Cooperative, Rosebud Electric Cooperative, Charles Mix Electric and Lacreek Electric Association Inc. The cooperative states that they have back-fed lines to restore power as quickly as possible. Area residents that get their power from Cherry Todd are asked to please report your outages with your account name and number, and update your contact info at 605-856-4416.
KVSH Radio also had reports of power disruption in the Brownlee area in southeast Cherry County after high winds left multiple households and ranches without power. Crews have reportedly been working on restoring power since the early morning hours Wednesday.
