Cherry County Ag Society Continues Plans for County Fair

The Cherry County Ag society met Monday evening to continue plans for this year's Cherry County Fair and Rodeo.  They will hold a couple of workdays to get the grounds ready for the event which will begin this weekend with some 4-H activities.

The parade will be on Thursday the 7th at 6:30 on Main Street.  this year’s theme is Ribbons, Rodeo and Rural Pride.  Parade entries can be turned in to KVSH Radio.  There will be a rodeo dance on Friday the 8th with BJ Jamison performing west of the 4-H building after the rodeo. The trade show will be Friday and Saturday

Family Fun Day on Sunday the 11th will include a Church Service in the morning, ranch rodeo at 1pm along with mud volleyball, cornhole tournament and horseshoe tournament.

In other business the board member voted to ask the Cherry County Commissioners for a 3.5% increase in property tax request for about $3,000 annually.   They will also approach the Cherry County Visitors Promotion Board to discuss a grant to improve the electrical hookups East of the buildings and include water.  on a related note, the board voted to charge a $35 per night hook up fee for electric and water spaces. dry camping and horse stall will remain a free will donation at this time.

The old web site is back up while they continue to work on a new site which will include reservations for camping hookups. the site is cherrycofairgrounds.com.
