Canyon Ridge Care Center to Pursue Long Term Care

A new nonprofit organization, Canyon Ridge Care Center has officially launched its mission to strengthen local healthcare by building a dedicated skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Valentine.

This process began in 2024 and 2025 and has progressed to the point of having a signed letter of intent to acquire Cherry Hills Estates in Valentine. The facility will be community focused with all contributions fully tax deductible. A local board of directors will guide the effort including Leonard Danielski, Peggy Snell, Andrew Johnson, Mark Hagge and Nina Nelson.

Len Danielski stated to KVSH News that the impact will be to keep families together by providing local care, reducing travel burdens and sustaining the regions healthcare network.

Having already done a feasibility study and proforma, discussions with architects and potential funding avenues are ongoing. There are still regulatory approvals that must be met. It most likely will take a few more years before it would be open to accept residents although local ownership of Cherry Hills would be secured moving forward. The project will preserve jobs, expand senior care options and commitment to the local area.
