Bull Bash Livestock Judging

Things are coming together for the 25th annual Bull Bash on February 14th in Valentine. Activities will begin on Friday the 13th with the livestock judging at Valentine Livestock. Valentine FFA advisor Brent Nollette appeared on the KVSH Comment program and reported that for over 5 years youth from 4-H, FFA and college level have competed in divisions at this event. It has become a premier event of its kind in the area which draws college teams from University of Nebraska, California, Arizona, Minnesota and more.
Area ranches provide the stock for the event which will be judged by up to 150 contestants starting at 9AM on the 13th. Awards should begin about 2pm at the sale barn and is open to the public. Each contestant must give a 30 second oral summary of why they placed the cattle in the order they did.
Monty Neifer of the Bull Bash Committee was also on the Comment program reporting there will be 20 pens of bulls and even some horses on Main Street. There will also be several commercial exhibits on Main Street as well. Don’t Forget the drawing for the commemorative rifle, a Ruger model 77 in .204 caliber. Proceeds go to the Valentine and Cody Kilgore FFA. In honor of the 25th annual event the committee will also give away $2,500 toward the purchase of a bull to a lucky winner.
