A Memorial Visitation for Brett W. Swanson age 49 of Bassett, NE will be held on Saturday, (April 25, 2026) from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Rock County Community Center in Bassett with a Prayer Service there to be at 4:00 PM. A Private Family Inurnment will be held at a later date.


Brett Swanson passed away Saturday (April 18, 2026) at the Wagner Community Memorial Hospital Avera in Wagner, SD.

Wife: Tara of Bassett

Children: Gracie Swanson of Bassett

& Zak Swanson of Bassett

Parents: Dennis & Terri Swanson of Bassett

Sister: Brandi (Wade) Hollenbeck of Bassett

Brother: Scott (Lauren) Swanson of Bassett

Parents-in-law: Glen & Judy Stahlecker of Atkinson, NE

Grandfather: Duane Swanson of O’Neill, NE

Sister-in-law: Emily (Casey) Poessnecker of Atkinson

Along with numerous other family members


In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the Sandhills Ranch Expo or to the family in Brett’s name.
