As a reminder to Valentine residents, the City of Valentine does not permit the parking of any boats, pontoons, or other vessels such as jet skis or other recreational watercraft or their trailers on any local streets from the first of November through the month of March.   Anyone found to have a boat or boat trailer parked on the street for any amount of time for any reason risks a ticket by the city.  Camper trailers and RVs may be parked on the roadside, but are subject to the 7 day rule that restricts all parking to 7 days in any one spot, and according to City Manager Shane Seiwart, “and it doesn’t count if you get in and just move it a foot or two”, reminding listeners that the vehicles and camper trailers must actually be moved to a new spot after a week.  And there will be more eyes on the lookout for violations this year as the City of Valentine recently hired Fred Daugherty to fill the part-time position of Code Enforcement Officer.
