LB 1204 took effect on January 1st.

While parts of the bill addressed lottery winner privacy and distillery licensing, the primary purpose of LB 1204 focuses on the growing "Vape" industry. Businesses who sell these products, whether retailers, wholesalers, or manufacturers, will be affected, as certain brands will not be allowed as they are not approved by the state of Nebraska. A few of the more popular brands that did not get approved by the Nebraska Vape Registry include Geek Bar, Frogers and Lost Mary, although there were others that didn't get government approval.

The punishment for selling these products is steep, as well. Those outlets selling the banned vapes could see the suspension or revocation of their license as well as a potential $5,000 fine with the misdemeanor charges.

It is still possible that manufacturers that have not been approved to get on the registry, and the bill will NOT affect individuals who already own the products.
