In Washington, D.C., the House Energy and Commerce Committee voted 50-1 on the Every Vehicle Act ( H.R. 979) advancing the bill. This means the next step for the act is to the House Floor for a vote.
The bill has a filibuster-proof majority with 61 cosponsors in the U.S. Senate and 299 U.S. House of Representatives.
In a recent survey, 83% of Americans said they support AM radio and it’s essential to keep in new cars so drivers can access free emergency warnings and public safety information while driving.
Consumers and Policymakers alike recognize the vital need for emergency and reliable information from AM radio stations and urge the House and Senate leadership to pass the bill quickly, trying to preserve this essential service to the American public.
