It's Time Valentine

The effort to bring a new event center to Valentine is moving forward.  After over 40 years of talking about the benefits of a community-based event center in the Valentine area, it looks like more of a reality than ever before.  Cherry County has pledged 1.5 million dollars of lodging tax money and community members have donated another million dollars toward the project to be located adjacent to Mid Plains Community College in Valentine.  Mid Plains has pledged to cover the operation and maintenance of the facility, which will feature a space for over 600 people at one function along with smaller venues.  This commitment alone will save a substantial amount of money each year.
