Another Fatal Motor Vehicle In Mellette County
From Mellette County Sheriff's Office - On August 5th at approximately 6:15 PM, the Mellette County Sheriff's Office received a report of a vehicle rollover approximately two miles north of Corn Creek in Mellette County.
Three occupants were ejected from the vehicle. Two were pronounced deceased at the scene, and a third was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Out of respect for the families involved, we ask that you please refrain from speculating about those involved until official information is released.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is leading the investigation.
The Mellette County Sheriff's Office extends its gratitude to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, Jackson County Sheriff's Office, Rosebud Police Department, Oglala Department of Public Safety, Rosebud EMS, and Norris Volunteer Fire for their assistance at the scene.
