4 Valentine area swimmers traveled to Lincoln this past weekend to compete at the Midwestern Long Course Championship. Ethan Osnes, KayLynn Miller, Dylan Witt and Caleb Long, along with their families partook in 3 days filled with swimming. Friday's races resulted in Dylan Witt bringing home 2nd place in his 200 freestyle relay with a time of 3.29.01. Ethan Osnes plowed through the water and brought home two 3rd places in his 200 freestyle relay and 400 Medley relay. Caleb Long's efforts resulted in him scoring an 8th place in his 50 breaststroke race. Saturday brought some really fast water, with 2 youngsters from other teams breaking records that had existed for 30 years. Despite the competition, Caleb Long was a heat winner and 6th place medalist in the 100 breaststroke race. KayLynn Miller also won her heat and brought home a 6th place medal in her 50 backstroke race. Dylan Witt swam the 50 backstroke and brought home 19th place and a 3rd place in his heat. Sunday was Ethan Osnes' biggest day with 3 races. He brought home two 3rd places in the 200 Medley Relay and 400 freestyle relay. In his 50 freestyle race, Ethan shined with a 13th place rating. Dylan Witt brought home a 3rd place with his 50 meter swim on the 200 freestyle relay team. The swimmers competed against 21 teams and nearly 600 swimmers.
