GNST Valentine swimmers, coaches, parents and fans braved the heat sending 29 swimmers to compete in 34 events, participating in 183 swims in a two day meet in Kearney, Nebraska over the weekend.  Swimmers had a great showing competing against swimmers from six teams around the state.  The Kearney GNST Summer Sizzler is the last regular season event and closes out the swimming year for all swimmers with the exception of those four qualifying for the GNST State Swim Team.

Valentine has a great ‘up and coming’ group of young competitors with nine swimmers in the 8 and under category ranging from age 6 to age 8.  All nine young swimmers received a participation award in Kearney this weekend in addition to any ribbons received.

Dylan Witt qualified for a third state event, swimming his 50 M Freestyle in 39.73 seconds.  Dylan adds this event to his 50 M Breaststroke and 100 M Breaststroke which he qualified for earlier in the year.  Dylan will be joined by Ethan Osnes swimming a 50 M Freestyle, Caleb Long swimming a 50 M Breaststroke, and Brayden Kieborz swimming both a 50 & 100 M Freestyle at the State event in Lincoln this weekend (July 27-29).
