Valentine's Jr. Wrestling Club participated in Todd County's 2nd Annual Eagles Wrestling Tournament on Saturday February 9th, 2013.  Coming home with first place finishes are Chase Olson, Gunnar Battershaw, and Kenneth Boyer.  Bringing home second place finishes are James Brown, Tobin Olson, Tanner Ostrander, Broden Westover, and Andon Olson, with a third place finish for Ashton Lurz.

Valentine Badgers repeated as District Wrestling Champions on Saturday at Southern Valley High School beating Sargent Burwell who were runner up.  Valentine had five individual champions as well including; Trevor Bukaske at 126, Marcus Nelson at 145, Tristin Eklund at 152, Cory Assarson at 195 and Tret Osnes at 220 pounds. There were also two wrestlers who place 4th.  Jake Fulton qualified at 182 lbs and Jacob Hand at 132.  Lance Hockenberry placed 3rd at 160 lbs and will wrestle in Omaha this Thursday through Saturday. Be sure to listen to live play by play coverage of the state championships on KVSH and kvsh.com starting Thursday afternoon about 3:30.  With the District Championship the Badgers will qualify for the first ever dual state championship on February 23rd in Kearney. KVSH will plan to cover that event live as well.
