Valentine Lions Club keeps busy

With about three quarters of the year gone, the Valentine Lions Club has already held 11 benefits this year with over $13,600 taken in for specific causes. That money has gone to help several community organizations or to benefit families in a time of need. The Lions Club already has three benefits planned for this month. On September 8th, the club will run the concession stand at the fairgrounds for the Nile Gallino benefit roping. On September 9th they will hold a spaghetti feed at the fairgrounds to help Sherry Wright with medical expenses. Serving will be from 5 to 7:30pm with entertainment by the Heart City Heartwarmers. Then on September 16th the Lions Club will help out the Cody Kilgore football team with their new scoreboard project by hosting a hamburger feed at the Valentine Fire Hall from 5 to 7:30 central time. Once again the Heart City Heartwarmers will perform.
At this time the Lions Club is in need of more hamburger to help with the benefits. If you would like to donate hamburger to the club, it would be greatly appreciated. Contact Bill Sokol at 322-1074 for more information about how to donate.
