Rosebud Woman Pleads Guilty to Theft

A South Dakota woman has pleaded guilty to theft from and Indian tribal organization. The US attorney's office says 39 year old Tanya Walking Eagle, of Rosebud, submitted false claims to the Rosebud Sioux Tribe child care services program and worked with an employee there to embezzle or steal money. The charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison. Sentencing is set for October 8.
